The Bronze-eyed gecko is endemic to the granitic Seychelles. This gecko is rather bulky, with warty skin patterned in pale yellow-brown, dark brown and grey and with metallic gold eyes. While the markings are often pale-mid-brown, they may be more uniformly dark or show heightened contrast. There are three species of bronze-eyed gecko which can be distinguished by size and distribution. On the larger granitic islands, they survive alongside introduced mammals in woodland habitats but at lower densities than on the predator free islands such as Cousin.
They feed on nectar, insects, carrion, and on seabirds eggs on seabirds islands. As a defence against predation, they can shed pieces of skin. Their large eggs are usually laid in pairs attached to vegetation.
