Improving climate adaptation and environmental governance through local people and Co-Management in Seychelles (Wetlands of Hope Project)
Short term national consultancy: Review and update of the Seychelles Wetlands Policy and Action Plan
Nature Seychelles in collaboration with Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change and Environment seek to recruit a consultant (or a team of consultants) to review and update the Seychelles Wetlands Policy and Action Plan.
The main deliverables of the assignment:
- Desk review of international conventions, national policies, regulations and current initiatives on wetlands in Seychelles to identify knowledge gaps and implementation challenges for effective wetland management.
- Multi-stakeholder consultative review and validation process for the updating of the Seychelles Wetlands Policy and Action Plan.
- Updated Seychelles Wetlands Policy and Action Plan
Applications are open to national consultants or groups of consultants. The Consultant(s) will be contracted to deliver the activities over a 9-month period, as of September 2024.

Qualifications/ Experience:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Law, Public Policy or related field.
- 5 years of experience in drafting legal documents in environmental areas.
- Experience in international environmental law and regulations, and the application in strategic and/or practical situations.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of wetlands ecosystems.
