Job Description: To undertake conservation work on “one of the world’s great conservation success stories”, the award winning Cousin Island Special Reserve in Seychelles
Location: Cousin Island Special Reserve
Responsible to: Reserve Coordinator
Works with: Chief Warden
Salary and benefits: Local salary is offered ranging from SR15,000 to 20,000/month depending on qualification, experience and attitude. Local insurance, uniform, 21 working days paid annual leave, housing including water, electricity and cooking gas provided. Working equipment and materials including computer and mobile phone are provided. If the person is an expatriate living overseas, a return ticket from and to home country is provided for the contract period; government bond and gainful occupation fees are also paid.
Length of contract: 2 years
Qualifications: University degree(s) in conservation or natural sciences and at least 2 years field experience. PADI Advanced Open Water diving qualification with 50+ dives including survey dives. Computer literate in Microsoft Office and use of statistical package. Emotional maturity, cultural sensitivity, physical fitness and ability to work in a remote condition with minimal supervision are highly desirable traits.
